What is Forensic Pathologist


The simplest way to explain what is forensic pathologist is that, forensic pathologist is a person who forensic pathology work. 


Forensic Pathology can be explained as one subject in forensic science to study about the mechanism of some human deceases and unusual or unexpected death such as flesh, blood or urine examination etc. to assist police officers or detective for an investigation.


The forensic science can be divided into 3 main areas as the following

  1. Anatomical Pathology
  2. Clinical Pathology and
  3. Forensic Pathology
Forensic Pathologists jobs usually include death body examination. They do the autopsy and tr to find out the root cause of the body's death. Police officers or detective can use information proved from forensic pathologists to help for further investigation whether they are murder, accident, suicide or sickness.

Therefore, it is required that forensic pathologists must have a strong background in medical or doctoral area.


Forensic pathologists don't only work with the death body. Many times, they have to work with their relatives or other people to help collect evidence for root cause of the death.


Forensic pathologists usually have to go to visit the place where crime occurs and collect organic evidence as required. Sometimes, forensic pathologists have to be a witness at a court as a part of investigation or law process.

Forensic science also involve many other forensic personnel such as Forensic Toxicology Forensic Odontology and Forensic Psychiatry. All have to work together to deliver a complete result for better and further investigation.
